kieto Chichibu – Pool & Sauna Usage Policy

To ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all guests, and in accordance with Article 9 of the Accommodation Agreement, kieto Chichibu has established the following Pool & Sauna Usage Policy. Please review this policy carefully before using the facilities.

Article 1 [Our Name and Purpose]

The Pool (hereinafter referred to as the “Pool”) and the Sauna (hereinafter referred to as the “Sauna”) are outdoor spa facilities operated by Atami Golf Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and are attached to kieto Chichibu (hereinafter referred to as the “Accommodation Facility”). These facilities are designed to provide guests with a safe, relaxing, and comfortable environment.

Article 2 [Operating Period and Hours]

  1. Pool

    • Operating Period: April through October (closed from November to March)
    • Operating Hours: 8:00 – 10:00 and 15:00 – 21:00
  2. Sauna

    • Operating Period: Year-round
    • Operating Hours: 8:00 – 10:00 and 15:00 – 21:00

Article 3 [Eligibility for Use]

Guests who fall under any of the following categories are not permitted to use the Pool and Sauna:

  • Individuals who are not in good health.
  • Individuals who have been advised by a physician to refrain from bathing.
  • Individuals suffering from infectious diseases or skin disorders.
  • Individuals who have consumed alcohol.
  • Pregnant women.
  • Individuals with chronic conditions or those taking prescribed medication.
  • Individuals with conditions such as hypertension or heart disease.

The Company assumes no responsibility for any discomfort, injury, or damage arising from the use of the facilities by individuals with the above conditions.

Article 4 [Attire and Hygiene Requirements]

To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Swimwear must be worn at all times. Nudity or attire other than swimwear is strictly prohibited.
  • Guests with tattoos (including temporary tattoos or stickers) are required to cover them with a rash guard or similar garment.
  • Shower before and after using the Pool, Sauna, or restroom.
  • Rinse off sweat, makeup, or hair products thoroughly before entering the facilities.
  • The use of tanning oils, body creams, or similar products is prohibited.
  • Do not bring towels or handkerchiefs into the Pool.
  • Remove footwear, glasses, and accessories before entering the Pool or Sauna.
  • Children who are not toilet-trained are not permitted to use the facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the poolside area, Pool, Sauna, and shower booths (collectively referred to as the “Premises”).
  • The introduction of hazardous items (e.g., glassware, bottles, sharp objects, flammable materials, or explosives) is strictly prohibited.

Article 5 [Management of Personal Belongings]

No lockers are provided in the common areas. Guests are solely responsible for their belongings. The Accommodation Facility is not responsible for color fading of swimwear or loss/damage to personal belongings. Secure valuables in the in-room safe and manage them at your own risk.

Article 6 [Precautions for Use]

To ensure safety, please observe the following precautions. Failure to comply may result in denial of access:

  • The Pool and Sauna are unsupervised; use is at your own risk.
  • Poolside showers provide only cold water.
  • Enter the Pool quietly and gradually after warming up.
  • Do not bring flotation devices, toys, or similar items into the Pool.
  • Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a guardian. Guardians must supervise children at all times.
  • Children between 5 and 12 years old may use the Sauna only if accompanied by a guardian.
  • Ensure sauna stones are stably arranged before use.
  • Do not exceed the Sauna’s designated capacity to prevent burns.
  • Solo use of the Sauna is prohibited.
  • Avoid using the Sauna if overly full or with untreated injuries.
  • Cease use immediately if experiencing abnormal physical symptoms.
  • Hydrate adequately before and after Sauna use to prevent dehydration or heatstroke.
  • Exercise caution during winter to avoid heat shock.
  • When performing löyly (steam release), avoid leaning over the sauna stove to prevent burns.
  • Pour water evenly (approximately one ladleful) over the sauna stones.

Article 7 [Prohibited Actions]

The following actions are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in denial of access:

  • Use of the facilities by children aged 12 or younger without a guardian.
  • Diving, submerging, or jumping into the Pool.
  • Running along the poolside.
  • Eating or consuming alcoholic beverages in the Pool or Sauna areas.
  • Wearing glasses while swimming.
  • Smoking (including heated or electronic cigarettes), hair dyeing, body scrubs, or doing laundry in the facilities.
  • Bringing items into the Sauna (except for provided sauna mats).
  • Throwing objects at the sauna stove or removing items such as ladles.
  • Taking photographs, conducting commercial activities, or engaging in promotion, advertising, or solicitation.
  • Photographing or recording staff or other guests without consent.
  • Engaging in violence, intimidation, or behavior that violates public order or disturbs others.
  • Using the facilities while accompanied by pets.
  • Damaging the facilities or causing discomfort to other guests.

Article 8 [Response to Natural Disasters and Emergencies]

In the event of inclement weather (e.g., strong winds, heavy rain), cease use immediately. In case of fire, earthquake, or other emergencies, follow staff instructions. The Company may suspend use of the facilities without prior notice in unavoidable circumstances.

Article 9 [Liability for Damages]

Guests are responsible for compensating the Company for damages caused by violations of these Terms or intentional/negligent actions. The Company is not liable for accidents, loss/theft of belongings, or disputes among guests, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Staff reserves the right to prohibit any items or actions at their discretion.

Article 10 [Amendment of These Terms]

These Terms may be amended to serve the general interests of guests or for reasonable cause. Amendments will be posted on the Company’s designated website and take effect on the specified date. Guests will be notified of changes via appropriate means (e.g., written notice or information bulletin).
